School Behavioral Solutions for Special
Educators & Behavior Analysts
Hi everyone,
As promised, one more (brief) reminder about the Behavior Toolbox Conference, happening tomorrow, March 5.
This is a one-day virtual event focused on what actually works in schools — not theory divorced from practice, but real-world strategies from practitioners operating inside classrooms, districts, research settings, and state systems.
The focus is behavioral leadership and implementation:
- Why change efforts stall
- How adult behavior shapes
student outcomes
- Moving from reactive “firefighting” to prevention-first systems
- Making practices stick under real-world constraints
Speakers include Drs. Paulie Gavoni, Anika Costa, Jeanne Donaldson, and more. I’ll be opening with “When NOT to FBA” — a conversation about when simpler, scalable supports may be more appropriate than reflexively jumping to full FBAs.
There’s also an expert panel on the use (and non-use) of personal
restraints in schools, plus downloadable, fillable tools designed for immediate application.
A couple quick notes:
- It’s live tomorrow.
- Registration includes full on-demand access.
- The content will be behavior-analytic based, but mainly jargon-free and accessible to school
professionals without extensive training in ABA (so send this to your admin, special educators, school psychs, etc...)
So if you can’t attend in real time, you won’t miss the content.
As I've mentioned in prior emails, I don’t typically push events this hard on this list, but this one is very aligned with the practical, systems-level conversations we’ve been having on the podcast.
